How running changed my life and led to weight loss coaching

It all started with an office challenge to run this race...

I was lured into running to lose weight; however, it was only when I started approaching my weight loss efforts from the perspective of a runner that I was able to change my habits willingly and sufficiently to give me control of my weight.
Running changed my reason for wanting to lose weight. I had completed the well-known Couch to 5K programme and instead of wanting to run to lose weight, I now wanted to lose weight to run!
Every pound of excess weight felt jolly heavy to carry around, it slowed me down, increased my risk of injury and generally held me back. I wanted to be able to keep up with other runners and even to join a running club.
I realised (and later researched and studied) the importance of sleep and of course diet, with regard to my running performance.
I also realised the importance of self-care and my mental approach both to running and weight loss. I learned what was holding me back and why I was sabotaging my own weight loss efforts and why others do this too. And I learned how to change it all.
